Your hosts: Marina and Matthias

We are Marina and Matthias Förtsch and we live in Schonach ourselves, just a few minutes from our apartments. One apartment has since become three: Waldperle since December 2024, Waldseele since April 2025 and Waldliebe since July 2025.

We renovated and furnished each apartment ourselves – with the aim of creating somewhere we would love to spend a holiday too. We are proud that the German Tourism Association (DTV) has awarded all three of them 5 stars.

Together with our cleaning team, we make sure everything is spotlessly clean. And because we are close by, you can reach us at any time if you need something or are looking for a tip for the day.

Holiday apartment in Schonach with indoor pool and sauna

Our apartments come with a heated indoor pool in the main building of the complex, just a one- to two-minute walk away. The pool is free to use every day from 8 am to 10 pm. Right next to it you will find the sauna, showers, plunge pool and relaxation room (sauna for a small fee according to the house rules) as well as table tennis and table football. Even a rainy day in the Black Forest becomes a holiday.

Holidays with your dog in Schonach

Dogs are very welcome by prior arrangement (€45 per stay). Walking and hiking trails start right at the front door, with forest and meadows next to the house. Our only request: the bed stays dog-free, and the sofa is fine with your own blanket.

Hiking and day trips around Schonach

Schonach lies at almost 1,000 metres in the heart of the Black Forest. Hiking trails start right at the apartment, and the well-known Westweg long-distance trail runs close by. Popular destinations nearby include the Triberg Waterfalls, Lake Blindensee in the raised bog, the world’s largest cuckoo clocks in Schonach and Triberg, and the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum. In winter Schonach is known for its cross-country ski trails. With the guest card you travel free by bus and train in the region, and e-bikes or skis are kept safe in the lockable cellar room.

Holidays with children and grandchildren

For the little ones we provide a cot or travel cot and a high chair free of charge in every apartment. Mornings in the indoor pool, afternoons at the forest playground of the complex, and tennis, table tennis or table football for those who like. If grandparents, parents and children travel together, simply book two or all three apartments next door to each other.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can stay?
Waldperle sleeps up to 2 adults, Waldseele and Waldliebe up to 3 adults each. In addition, each apartment has room for one child in a cot or child’s bed.

How does check-in work?
You check in independently from 4 pm and open the door with your personal door code.

Where can I park?
Each apartment has its own parking space: a private garage (Waldseele and Waldliebe) or a space in the underground car park (Waldperle). There are also free parking spaces in front of the house.

Are bed linen and towels included?
Yes, bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost.

Is there a visitor’s tax?
Yes: €3.00 per night from the age of 16, €1.50 from 6 to 15, children under 6 are free. In return you receive the guest card, which lets you travel free by bus and train in the region.

Can I cancel free of charge?
If you book directly on this website, cancellation is free up to 15 days before arrival.

How can I pay?
By credit card, bank transfer or PayPal.

Is smoking allowed in the apartment?
No, all apartments are non-smoking. An ashtray is provided on the balcony.
